34 weeks, 2 days...and a HUGE blogger slacker!!!

This picture was taken in Eden's nursery! :)
Hi friends!  Sorry for the blog hiatus.  I've been sick and unmotivated.  Who would have thought a cold while pregnant would last for 3 weeks and make me super miserable!!  AND, not only was I super congested, sneezy, and coughed my head off every two seconds, I lost my sense of smell and taste for 10 days.  That by far was the worst part of being sick.  I'm FINALLY at the end of this awful sickness and thank goodness for that!!

How far along? 34 weeks, 2 days OR 8 months 1/2 months!!!  Whoa Nelly!
Total weight gain/loss: +9
Food cravings: Nothing. Nada, Zilch.  I'm just happy to be able to taste and smell again.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really, now that my cold has finally decided to go away.
Have you started to show yet?  Oh man am I showing!!   I've got this bowling ball like accessory that I'm toting around.  As much as I love being pregnant, she is really making me feel uncomfortable.  She is so high up that I am always out of breath and sitting/laying comfortably is getting harder and harder.  Oh well, she'll be here soon and then I'm sure I'll miss being pregnant.
Movement: She's still a little wiggle worm in there.  Although, I'm not sure how since she's running out of room.  She tends to hang out on the left side, with her foot (at least I think it's her foot) pushed ever so tightly against my rib.  Talk about a weird feeling.
Gender prediction: The sonogram hanging on the fridge says "girl" and I am hoping this is right seeing as her nursery is all girl and so is her wardrobe.  I would be shocked if she came out a he.
Wedding rings on or off? Both bands are currently on my ring finger.  After talking to some ladies, I've decided to take them off before I go to the hospital.  Just to be on the safe side.  I'd hate something to happen to them.
Belly Button in or out? So this is kind of strange.  I've had an innie this whole pregnancy up unto about two weeks ago when I noticed one side of my belly button was  starting to pop out.  And so as of right now I have an innie/outie, or as Oliver calls it a "halfie." I'm pretty sure it's going to pop out before I deliver this bowling ball though.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Over the past several weeks I'd been down in the dumps because of that dang cold I just couldn't get rid of.  This week I'm feeling much happier and am feeling like my old self again.  Just fatter!
Maternity clothes? Since I tracked out I mostly am living in PJ's and I am okay with that.  I have been wearing a lot more of my non-maternity clothes around the house too.  Nothing quite like the sight of an 8 1/2 months pregger wearing a too small t-shirt with the bottom part of her belly hanging out.  (Remember--this is just INSIDE my house.  I wouldn't wear something like that in public.)
Stretch marks? Still stretch mark free, minus that one that I can't figure out if its pregnancy related.  I really don't care either way.
Sleep: Oh boy, I have never slept so awful in all of my life.  I applaud women who have done this pregnancy thing multiple times because it's not easy!!  I just can't get comfortable.  And when I do finally find that perfect spot, I have to go to the bathroom.  Figures!!!!
What I miss:  Sleep. That kind of sleep I used to have when I closed my eyes and the next thing I knew my alarm is going off.
New Baby Items: There is so much newness in Eden's nursery.  We are about 90% done with her nursery and then I will share pictures.  We've also begun building up a pretty good stock pile of diapers.  But I bet if I had a current mom check out what I have she'd tell me I really don't have much at all!
Nursery: It's my favorite room in the house!!!!  It's everything I wanted for Eden and more.  Her space is so light and airy and girly and I love it!  Oliver and I really don't want to spoil her, and we talk often about raising her to be a humble and giving person, but at the moment she is 100% spoiled and she hasn't even made her appearance earth side yet!  Yikes!!!
What I'm looking forward to: After taking the labor and delivery and breastfeeding class I am totally okay with her hanging out INSIDE for as long as she wants.  I am really scared to have a baby.  Birthing a baby is no stinkin' joke, folks!!!  But I can say that I am looking forward to finishing her nursery and getting all her clothes put away.  At the moment I've got baby stuff everywhere!!  Our guest bedroom is filled with baby stuff and we still have all the bins of clothes my sister gave me to work through.  Kinda stressful, but at the same time so awesome!!!
Milestones: Hitting 8 1/2 months.  I cant believe how fast it's going by!!
Best moment this week: Checking things off the Eden "to do" list.  The last thing Ollie and I want is to be scrambling to get things done right before she comes.  And the best moment of last week was the baby shower that my friend Kimberly threw for me!  Check out some of the pics from special Eden's day!

My mom spent the weekend and joined in on the fun.

Sweet Baby Eden :)

30 week..say what?!

How far along? 30 weeks 6 days or 7 1/2 months!
Total weight gain/loss: +10
Food cravings: Fruit.  This week it was pears and bananas.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I've been fighting a nasty cough and stuffed up head for over a week now.  I miss the days when I could take any medicine I wanted. I'm also starting to feel more uncomfortable lately thanks to Eden hanging out at the top of my uterus which is now below my diaphragm.  She jabs me in my ribs and it doesn't feel good at all.  But it's so cool that she is big enough that Oliver and I can feel exactly where she's hanging out.
Have you started to show yet?  Heck yes!! At my Dr. appointment this week the midwife told me that I will probably gain 10-15 pounds these last couple months of my pregnancy because of how quickly she'll be growing.  That's a lot of pounds!
Movement: She's a dancing queen, this one!  She loves to move and I love to feel her!
Gender prediction: girl...and like a dunce when I told y'all her middle name last week I didn't realize I spelled it wrong!!  Huh?!  I want to spell her name just like my sister and I thought she said she spelled it ElyCE, but it's actually ElySe.  OOPS!
Wedding rings on or off? I'm still wearing them.  But I'm wondering if I should take them off though when I go to the hospital?
Belly Button in or out? I've got this weird looking innie thing going on.
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week I was really tired.  I track out in 7 days and am really looking forward to resting and getting the house/nursery ready for Eden.
Maternity clothes? Best creation ever!!  That and Oliver's jammie pants I've been wearing to sleep. :)
Stretch marks? Maybe?  I noticed a small stretch mark on my left hip a long time ago and I thought it was old.  But recently, it's looking pink and so I'm thinking its from pregnancy.
Sleep: Absolutely awful!!!  My cough keeps waking me up.  It's so annoying!!
What I miss:  Not getting winded from walking up steps.  Holy cow I have to rest after I climb a flight of stairs.
New Baby Items: We bought Eden her crib!!!!
Nursery: I ditched the exercise question because it's boring and also because I've gotten so lazy!!  Instead, let's replace this question with how the nursery is progressing!!  Let's talk nursery!!  Okay, so Oliver was AWESOME and kicked butt this week!!  He painted Eden's room!  We chose the most perfect gray color.  Super light and airy!  He also installed her light fixture (I cannot wait to show y'all what we picked out for our little darling) and moved in her dresser and chair/ottoman.  We also found the most perfect area rug for her space. This weekend Ollie and I picked up supplies for some crafty projects we have planned.  EEK, can't wait to start those!
What I'm looking forward to: I'm DYING for the crib to get here!!!!! I know Ollie will have it up in no time!!
Milestones: I'm at the point in my pregnancy when I go to the doctor every two weeks, instead of monthly.  Whoa!!
Best moment this week: Walking into Eden's painted nursery!!  I can't wait to spend time with her in there. :)

29 weeks

I drew a picture of an acorn squash but you can't see it.  Sorry!!!

So I know I totally flaked last week and didn't post for week 28.  Sorry, y'all!!  I usually put my posts together on the weekends, but last weekend I went to WV for a family weekend.  It was soooooo wonderful!  Everyone was there, except Dominique (she was shivering in Alaska.) and we were all able to celebrate Eden...or as Oliver and I call her, E-E.  We've finally settled on a middle name for our little doll baby.  We are going to be naming her Eden Elyse Massey.  My sister Meredith's middle name is Elyce (pronounced eh-LEE-s) and she has the biggest heart and would do anything for her family.  Unfortunately, her health really limits her on what she can and can't do, and many times more than not she is unable to be apart of family gatherings because she is too sick.  So Oliver and I decided to honor Meredith and give Eden her middle name.  She was so excited when we told her, too.  I'm really happy we are able to name Eden after her!! :)

The baby shower was so beautiful.  Meredith worked so hard organizing and gathering everything.  She worked for hours on a diaper cake too that held more than 140 diapers! WOW!  And can you believe that when we got to the restaurant Meredith wasn't there.  She was too sick to stay and had to go home and rest.  I felt so awful.  She also missed our gender reveal party back in August because she was too sick to travel to NC from WV.  It just breaks my heart that she misses out on so much due to her health.  So you can see why Ollie and I want to use her middle name for Eden's.  We just want her to know how much she means to us!

How far along? 29 weeks 6 days or 7 months 1 week.
Total weight gain/loss: +10
Food cravings: Nah, not really.  I'm still drinking pumpkin spice lattes all the time and at this point I should have stock in the company!
Anything making you queasy or sick: The only thing that makes me feel really ugh is when Eden is hanging out between my ribs.  It just feels so uncomfortable having her hanging out up there.  It's really not even that bad though so please don't think I'm complaining! :)
Have you started to show yet?  I felt so big this past week.  Oliver and I went to the fair Friday night and two vendors asked if I was carrying twins.  Say whaaa???  My neighbors tell me that I look small though so I'm going with that!
Movement: She is soooo active all the time.  Oliver gets to feel her move at night when we're in bed.  The other day I was sitting on the couch and Eden was having a dance party.  My belly was just moving like crazy.  I love feeling her move around.  It's such an amazing feeling.  I'm convinced our pups Darla and Benny know there's a baby in my belly, too.  They've both been smelling my belly and one day Benny kept licking my stomach.  He loves his little sis!
Gender prediction: We're having a little Eden Elyce!!!
Wedding rings on or off? On--fits perfectly.
Belly Button in or out? The grossest innie you could imagine.  (Seriously!)
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm so happy!!!  I love being pregnant.  I mean, don't get me wrong, there are moments when it's hard--like bending down or getting comfy at night, and then there's the bazillion night trips to the bathroom, but those are so small when looking at the big picture.....A BABY!!!
Maternity clothes? The most comfortable stuff I'll ever wear.  I really love maternity jeans.  I'll be sad when I have to pack them up!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Not the best, but I know I need to enjoy it now before she gets here and I'm up every two hours.
What I miss:  I miss drinking sangria.  My mom ordered a sangria at dinner the other night.  It looked so tasty.
New Baby ItemsY'all, my family spoiled Eden last weekend!!!  So much "stuff" for her.  Stuffed animals, books galore, clothing, and lots more to list.  I can't wait to unpack everything once her nursery is up and running!!
Exercise:  Not as active as I should be.
What I'm looking forward to: Ollie's painting the nursery this week.  Yay!!  Then we can move in her chair/ottoman, dresser, and start organizing everything.   AND, we're ordering her crib this week too!!!  Here's the one we decided on:

Milestones: I'd have to say how active Eden's been.  Knowing that there is a living being inside of me is so bazaar and such a miracle.  We cannot wait to meet her!
Best moment this week: 1. Getting the results from my glucose test: I PASSED!!! and, 2.  Hitting the 3rd trimester last week!!  It's all happening so fast!

27 weeks along

How far along? 27 weeks 6 days or 6 months 3 weeks.  I just cannot believe how quickly the time is flying by.  The first trimester seemed never ending and now I'm almost to the 3rd trimester.  What?!
Total weight gain/loss: +9--but technically (if I want to get technical) I lost 11 pounds during my first trimester and I've gained back 9 of those pounds.  So I'm still under my pre-pregnancy weight and I am so very happy for that.  I'm little nervous about my weight gain for the remainder of my pregnancy.  I've never been a "skinny girl" and I'm scared I'm just going to start gaining a crazy amount of weight these last few months.
Food cravings: This week I had no cravings.  I have been eating a lot of PB&J sandwiches at lunch though, so maybe that is a craving?!
Anything making you queasy or sick: This week was a rough week.  I felt so sick Monday afternoon-Thursday.  I had the WORST lower belly and back pain.  It was just awful.  I soooo badly wanted to call in sick for work but I pushed through.  I just couldn't get comfortable.  I'm not entirely sure what it was but that was the first time I really wished I wasn't pregnant.  I'm so happy to be feeling better.
Have you started to show yet?  Nope, not at all. ;)  I just look like I ate a REALLY BIG Thanksgiving dinner. :)  Neat fact: I read that my uterus is now the size of a soccer ball.  That is so mind blowing to me.  It is crazy what your body is capable of doing.  And what's even crazier is it's going to get BIGGER!!  WHOA!!!
Movement: All the time.  And she's all over the place!  One minute I feel her on my lower right side and the next minutes she's karate chopping me in my ribs on the left side.  I love feeling her move all around.
Gender prediction: A darling daughter. :)
Wedding rings on or off? On--and not really showing any signs of feeling too tight.
Belly Button in or out? Same as it's been-a weird looking innie.
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week was not a good week for my mental health.  With feeling so sick and having to be on at work with my students each day I just felt pretty down.  Plus I had to attend a teacher workshop at an elementary school in Rolesville which I learned is soooooo far away, and then to sit in kid chairs all day just really did me in.  But life could be so much worse and so I need to stop complaining.  I really am blessed beyond measure and I know this.
Maternity clothes? Yes, and I love them!!  I did wear a skirt one day this week to work that was non-maternity, but besides that I've got on all maternity all the time  And y'all, I've got so many maternity clothes to choose from.  I'm so thankful.
Stretch marks? Nah.
Sleep: This week sleep was nothing to brag about. I slept terrible.  I just couldn't get comfortable.  And with my belly aching non stop it really hurt to turn over.  I'm sooo happy that's gone now.
What I miss:  Hmmm, I would have to say moving with ease when I sleep.  And I know I have mentioned this before, but I really miss sushi.  It's one of my favorites.  I could really go for an eel roll at this very moment.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
New Baby ItemsI'm still soaking in all the baby items my sister, Jaclyn gave Oliver and I last weekend.  My favorite thing so far has been looking through the tubs of clothing.  There is just so much!  And baby clothes are just precious.  I cannot believe that in 3 short months I'm going to have  a baby to put those clothes on. Oliver also picked up Eden's dresser for the nursery.  And we now know the type of crib we want to get her.  We're holding off ordering it until we have her room ready and have the space to set it up.  Notice how I say "we."  Who am I kidding, Oliver will totally set up the crib while I watch.
Exercise:  I mowed the back yard this week.  I actually really like mowing the lawn. It's instant gratification to me to see it go from looking bad to good all by my doing.  My dog Benny is so cute too when I mow.  He'll follow me up and down the yard.  He likes to keep me company. :)
What I'm looking forward to: Family weekend!!!  We're all getting together this coming weekend to celebrate baby Eden andddd to celebrate my parents' upcoming 46th wedding anniversary.  Only Dominique will be missing--remember, she lives in Alaska.  BUT she is coming to the lower 48 for a month and will be here through January.  That means she'll get to meet Eden!!!
Milestones: I'm not proud of this one, but it was when I wished I wasn't pregnant anymore.  That was the first time that ever crossed my mind.  I want so much to enjoy this time, but man, this week was tough to have that mindset.  I'm glad I am feeling better and am over those feelings.
Best moment this week: 2 things: 1. Looking through the massive amounts of baby clothes, and 2. when I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and I remembered tomorrow was Saturday and I could sleep in!!!  :)  Yay for weekends and no alarm clocks!!

26 weeks!!

Relaxing in Eden's new glider rocker.  :)

How far along? 26 weeks or 6 months 1/2 months!!!
Total weight gain/loss: +8 lbs ---I think those pumpkin spice lattes are catching up with me!!!!
Food cravings: I am still drinking pumpkin spice lattes, but I'm trying to slow down on them.  Mainly because they add up fast and I know I shouldn't be spending so much money on overpriced coffee!!!  A WONDERFUL parent and student of mine surprised me with a Starbucks gift card this week just so I could get my latte!!  How kind and thoughtful is that?!  It was greatly appreciated!!  Especially since I had to be at work super early the next day for parent teacher conferences.  This week I have also been craving soup a lot! So I made chili and zuppa toscana.  Soooooo good!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I felt great this week!!
Have you started to show yet?  My belly keeps growing and growing.  I LOVE that bump!!  My coworker gave me the best compliment on Friday.  I was walking down the hallway at school towards her and she said the I don't even look pregnant straight on!!  Sweet!  I definitely want to look pregnant, but not necessarily all over.
Movement: This week has been the most I've felt Eden.  As I type this she is karate chopping my left side!  On Tuesday I was at a women's bible study at my church and she was playing soccer in there!!  It was so cool!!
Gender prediction: It's a she!  But wouldn't that be crazy if when she's born she comes out a BOY?!  What a surprise that would be!!
Wedding rings on or off? On--right where I like it!
Belly Button in or out? In and its crazy how much it has stretched out.  Before becoming pregnant I was never able to see all the way inside my belly button.  But now I can see the whole thing. It's so weird and cool at the same time to see how your body changes when you're pregnant!!
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm the happiest I've even been!!
Maternity clothes? I'd have to say that 90% of what I wear is maternity clothes.  And I LOVE wearing them too!!  ANOTHER friend of mine gave me maternity tops this week.  I really am so truly blessed by everyone's generosity because I know that not everyone is lucky enough to be given or be able to borrow other's clothes.  My favorite tops are the form fitting ones.  I've gotta show Eden off!! :)
Stretch marks? I'm lucky that I haven't gotten any up to this point.  I know that this can easily change. I'm okay with stretch marks.  Especially ones as a result of pregnancy.
Sleep: I never sleep well anymore.  But one night this week I didn't wake up once to use the bathroom.  Lack of sleep must have finally caught up with me and I was just so tired I got some sound sleep.  And whoever the created body pillow is my best friend!  I love mine so much!  I've broken it in and it's just perfect for me!  I have a feeling I'm still going to use it after Eden is born.  Oliver likes it too, so I'll probably have to fight him for it!  haha
What I miss: Have you ever eaten so much and gotten so full that you feel sick and lethargic?  I feel like that a lot after I eat even if I didn't eat a lot.  I miss eating and not feeling like I've ingested a bowling ball!
New Baby Items: YES!  Eden's rocking chair glider came this week.  And in a HUGE box!!  Even though her nursery is nowhere near ready and we don't have a good spot for the chair/ottoman at the moment, we were just too excited to wait.  I love it!!  Ollie and I took turns sitting in it, pretending to rock the baby.  :)   It's going to be perfect for her!! Anddddd, my sister and her family came over and brought Ollie and me TONS, I mean TONS of baby stuff!!  5 bins of clothes and blankets and bibs, an exersaucer, baby swing, vibrating chair, stroller, toys, bathtub, and I don't even know what else because there is just so much!!  The baby clothes are beyond precious!!  My sister took really good care of her things!!  She's been holding on to this stuff for the past 8 years just waiting for a sister (or brother) to have a baby. I can't wait to sit down and go through all the bins.  So far here is the cutest thing I've seen.  Check it out!

The top says 99% angel and look at those angel wings on the bottoms.  I am dying!
Exercise:  It rained all week and so I really did nothing.  Maybe why I gained 2 pounds!  Yikes!
What I'm looking forward to: We have been searching a while now for a white dresser for the nursery.  We want a good quality one and not just a cheap particle board one.  Ollie found a really nice dresser on Craigslist and he's picking it up Monday.  Here's what it looks like:

Milestones: This question is always tough for me to answer.  Nothing really comes to mind so I guess it would be feeling Eden squirming around all the time.  I used to feel her most at night, but now I feel her all day.  I love that kid!
Best moment this week: Hands down my sister and brother-and-law giving Oliver and me massive amounts of things for the baby.  It's such a great feeling knowing that we have things for the her.  Especially all the clothes!!

24 weeks = 6 months! & 25 weeks, too!

How far along? 24 weeks or 6 months!!!
Total weight gain/loss: +7 lbs
Food cravings: YES!!!  Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Lattes.  It's out of control!  I've had one everyday of the work week.  And although I haven't had any this weekend, I have thought about them more than once.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not so much this week.  And I didn't get car sick once!
Have you started to show yet?  Heck yeah!  And I love it, too!!  I'm at that point that anyone can tell I'm pregnant.  Which is good, because before I just looked like I needed to lay off the junk food!  I still look most pregnant at night.  And my belly is so hard by the end of the night.  It's just strange because in the morning it's so much softer.
Movement: I'd mostly been feeling Eden move when I'm laying down in bed or lounging on the coach, but this week I felt her moving around a lot while I was at work.  One morning this week she was a wiggle worm while I was teaching math.  I guess she was really into the lesson. :)
Gender prediction: a sweet little girl!
Wedding rings on or off? On and fitting just fine!
Belly Button in or out? It's just a weird looking wide, round hole.  I'm predicting it's not going to pop.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I felt good this week.  Pretty happy.  Nothing extreme stands out in my mind.
Maternity clothes? My neighbor loaned me her maternity clothes this week.  They are super cute!!  It was fun trying everything on.  I've already worn a couple of the tops.  I also went to Old Navy after work one day this week to check out their maternity section.  I bought 7 tops and a pair of jeans. And I bought a super cute sweater online a couple of weeks ago and it came in the mail yesterday.  I'd completely forgotten that I had bought it, so that was a fun mail surprise.  I've got to stop buying though!!  But in my defense, I'm pregnant and you have to have clothes that fit!!  Plus, I plan on having more than 1 kiddo so I'll wear them again.
Stretch marks? Still stretch mark free!
Sleep: My lower back has been aching a lot this week.  And getting comfortable at night is already hard to begin with, but throw in an achy back and just forget it.  I've started stuffing a pillow under my back to help relieve some pain.  It doesn't work that great, but it does help some.
What I miss: I miss bending down without having pain in my belly.  It just hurts to lean over with a kid inside!  And I'm not even that big yet so I can only guess how much harder it's going to get.  It's all so worth it though.
New Baby Items: Nothing new purchased for baby E this week.
Exercise:  After being a bum for 2 weeks I finally got myself out and walking this week.
What I'm looking forward to: Ordering some things for Eden's nursery!  But don't be fooled thinking the nursery is coming along.  We've still done nothing to the space.  Oliver is remodeling the bathroom beside Eden's room.  (All that's in the bathroom at this moment is a new tub.) We're not going to work on her nursery until the bathroom is complete.  I'm not really too stressed at this point with her room.  I think it's more anxiousness to see her space come together.
Milestones: This week I hit a new milestone that I could have done without my entire life!  I woke up 4 times one night to use the bathroom.  That is just ridiculous and super annoying!!!  I really hope it was a one night thing and this doesn't continue as I get more pregnant!
Best moment this week: Ollie was able to make it to my monthly OB appointment.  It was exciting that Ollie got to hear Eden's heartbeat.  Not so exciting is the glucose test I get to do next month.

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +6 lbs---->I lost a pound this week.
Food cravings: I'm still on my Pumpkin Spice Latte kick.  I just love pumpkin!  Anyone else obsessed with these things?!
Anything making you queasy or sick: One day this week I felt the worst I've felt my entire pregnancy.  I had terrible pain in my belly above my belly button and it wouldn't go away.  So painful!  I tried to push through at work with the kids, but it got so bad that I jut had to go home.  So after lunch I went home and spent the rest of the day in bed.  I woke up the next morning and was fine.  Weird, right?  A friend of mine suggested ligament pain and I think she was spot on.  I'm already nervous to experience labor pain and after how I felt that day I 'm totally getting an epidural!!!
Have you started to show yet?  You bet!
Movement: I felt her most this week when I was laying down.
Gender prediction: pink pink pink!!
Wedding rings on or off? I'm still rocking those wedding bands.  I really hope that I will be able to wear them the whole time, too.
Belly Button in or out? Same as last week.  Still an innie and nowhere near an outie.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I was in a really good mood this week.  Everyone is so nice to you when you're pregnant.  Well except that person at the grocery store who was in too big of a hurry to stop and let me cross.
Maternity clothes? Almost 100% of the time now.  I love wearing maternity clothes.  It's cool to me seeing my belly grow and getting show that bump off.  Plus another one of my neighbors loaned me her maternity clothes.  Like I said above, people are so nice to pregnant woman!!  I'm so grateful for everyone's generosity towards me!!
Stretch marks? 25 weeks and still stretch mark free.
Sleep: Between what feels like a zillion bathroom breaks a night, an achy back, and having a hard time getting comfortable, I didn't have the best sleeps this week.  Oh well, this little lady is so worth it!
What I miss: I miss a good night's sleep!!
New Baby Items: YES!  We finally bought something for the nursery.  It will arrive this week.  I can't wait to rock Eden in this!!

Exercise: Not what it should be!!  I just need to get my booty outside and moving!!
What I'm looking forward to: Oliver has been working on Eden's bathroom the past few days and over the weekend we picked out the tile for the shower and the floor tile, too.  I can't wait to see it all come together.
Milestones: I think passing the 6 month mark and knowing that the baby is going to be here before we know it.
Best moment this week: I'd have to say all the positivity I've received from people about the baby.  This really is an exciting time!! :)

23 weeks!!

Whoa! That belly is getting BIG!

How far along?
23 weeks--but I'm just now getting around to typing this post and I'm actually 24 week 1 day today.  Yikes!
Total weight gain/loss: +6 lbs
Food cravings: I'm not too proud to admit that I ate pretty rotten this week.  Ollie and I ate out a lot and I didn't make the healthiest food choices. :/  No real food cravings this week though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Actually, all those rotten food choices made me feel pretty blah!  I've never really had indigestion before and so I'm not entirely sure what it feels like, but I'm saying that I must have had indigestion because I felt so gross!
Have you started to show yet?  Oh boy have I ever!  And even though I am showing and I don't feel that big, when I look at pictures of myself I look B.I.G.!  I look HUGE in this week's pregnancy picture!  Holy Whoa!  But it really doesn't help that Ollie and I went to a hibachi restaurant for dinner and I ate everything on my plate and then came home and took that picture. OINK.  In my defense though, I really didn't eat very much for breakfast or lunch.
Movement: All the time.  Last night she was doing somersaults when I was laying in bed. I absolutely LOVE all the movement.  I love my little sprout!!
Gender prediction: Guess what?!  It's still a GIRL!
Wedding rings on or off? On and currently getting a good soak in some jewelry cleaner.  One of my pet peeves is when I compliment a woman's wedding bands and she responds that they're so dirty.  I'm actually guilty of committing this pet peeve of mine!! So I try and clean them often.
Belly Button in or out? I still have an innie but it's gotten really wide and round.  It never looked like that before.  It's weird and not very cute!
Happy or Moody most of the time: If you ask Ollie he'll tell you that I have been pretty grumpy and there is certainly some truth to that.  But everywhere else I feel like I have been happy.
Maternity clothes? Yes.  My sister gave me some of her old maternity clothes over the weekend.  She's had them for 11 years!!!  We definitely got some good laughs when I tried on the jeans. (She wore smalls/mediums and I wear large so you can imagine how they fit!  Not to mention the wash of the jeans are so out of style!)  But a lot of the tops will be great for around the house.
Stretch marks? None yet.  Phew!
Sleep: I've definitely slept better now that I am home from Alaska and sleeping in my own bed.  I'm still up 1-2 time nightly for the bathroom.
What I missOh how I miss the days when I used to sleep though the entire night!
New Baby Items: LOTS.  My sister not only gave me her old maternity clothes, but she gave me lots of baby items, too!!  She gave me dresses, shoes, bows, headbands, and lots of other goodies.  And she called me last night to tell me she has FIVE bins of baby clothes for me, along with tons bibs and blankets.  She took really good care of her stuff and I am so very grateful for her wanting to give me her things!!
Exercise:  I was a whole lot of lazy this week.
What I'm looking forward to: Starting the nursery!!
Milestones: Ollie FINALLY felt Eden move for the first time!  I was so excited for him!
Best moment this week: Ollie and I FINALLY registered!!!  I was going to do it without him, but he really wanted to be apart of it.  :)  He went a little crazy with the scanner gun though and so I had to delete some things later.  We're registered at Babies r Us and Target.  I tried to be practical and not go nutzo, but there is just SO MUCH STUFF for babies out there!!  Thanks to my sister I was able to take several things off our registries. :)

22 Weeks!

Hi everyone!  Long time, no post!!  I was super bummed that I was unable to post while I was in Alaska, but I got quite the rude surprise when I found out I have limited roaming data.  I have unlimited everything else on my phone so why would this be any different?! Well it was, and so I was always on the lookout for wifi, which was pretty limited depending on where I was.  I wasn't too happy about this, but I did get to download a really good podcast for the long Alaskan car rides before I lost internet.  (Not related to pregnancy, but it you're into murder cases, I highly recommend listening to the Serial podcast about Adnen Syed and the murder of his ex-girlfriend.  Good stuff! You'll be addicted and you're welcome!) Anyway, I'm back and here's a pregnancy update for you!!

How far along?
22 weeks, 6 days (But of course my lazy bones is late to post and now I'm 23 weeks along.)
Total weight gain/loss: +5.5 lbs
Food cravings: YES!!   Strawberry milkshakes andddddd I know it's not good to drink much caffeine when pregnant, but coke.  I can't help it.  I crave it all the time.
Anything making you queasy or sick: YES, riding in cars.  It’s been making me sick for weeks, but I just forgot to note it here.  I also get car sick when I drive too which to me is so unusual.  My car sickness was particularly bad while in Alaska because it’s a huge state with limited roads and to get from city to city you pretty much have to drive 5+ hours.  I finally broke down and bought some Dramamine.  What a lifesaver it was, too.  It's okay to take it while pregnant, I'd just prefer to take no meds if possible.
Have you started to show yet?  Yup!  I haven’t popped yet, but by the end of the day you’d think I had based on how big I get throughout the day.  In the morning my belly’s back to looking pretty small.
Movement: YES, and I can see my belly move, too.  Nothing crazy, but small pokes every once in a while.  Ollie is dying to see it but he’s not been around when she’s moving.
Gender prediction: There's a sweet little lady named Eden in there!!
Wedding rings on or off? On.  I actually had Oliver and my rings re-dipped and cleaned today.  They look brand new.  Just the way I like them!!!
Belly Button in or out? It's still an innie, but it shouldn't be too much longer before that changes.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm happy.  I just got back from 12 days of exploring Alaska.  And lemme tell you folks, I AM TIRED!!!  We explored soooo many parks/cities/towns on this trip!! I had a really good time and so I'm HAPPY!
Maternity clothes? YES YES and YES!  Today Oliver and I went shopping for clothes!  It was exciting to me!!  I still fit in my regular clothes, but I realized while I was in Alaska, that even though I can fit into my pants, the waist is super uncomfortable.    I got lots of goodies!!  :)
Stretch marks? None from pregnancy.  I did pick up a big tub of cream for my belly today.  Time to take potential stretch marks seriously!
Sleep: Sleeping in a tent pregnant isn't my favorite.  I had to get up and use the restroom at least once a night which is a process when you're zipped up in a sleeping bag and you have to put on your hiking boots and wear a headlamp.  And if it's raining then it's even more annoying!!  And my hips were aching terribly every night I slept in the tent.  It was so painful.  I know it was 100% related to being pregnant because last year when I was camping in Alaska my hips never hurt once. I still loved camping though!  The rest of the time we were either staying in a cabin/hotel so I slept much better.  And in case you don't already know this, my little sister lives in a dry cabin and so I had to go out to the outhouse to take care of business.  So weird!!  Not fun, people!  I really missed having my body pillow with me.  I'm glad to be back home in my own bed with my own stuff!
What I miss: Being able to do whatever I want.  While in Alaska I couldn't hike past a certain point on the coolest trail because it wasn't safe for me.  My little sis climbed up and took pictures and she said she was nervous walking back down  Also, my sisters wanted to take a guided tour where you actually walk out onto a glacier, but there was no way I was walking on ice 5 1/2 months pregnant.  Even if I am wearing crampons (for ice--kinda like cleats.), have hiking sticks, and am wearing a helmet.
New Baby Items: I bought Eden several goodies in Alaska.  I bought the cutest print to hang in her nursery, a book, and a sweet pink onesie with Alaska animals/cities on it.  My little sis also bought her a book for when she gets older.  Do y'all remember paper dolls?  Eden has Alaskan themed ones.  Thanks, Sis!
Exercise: I did tons of walking and hiking.  One day we hiked 16 miles and my legs were jello.  I was beyond tired!  The freeze dried beef stew I had for dinner that night never tasted better!
What I'm looking forward to: Hitting the 6 month mark next week!!!  And registering for baby stuff!
Milestones: Last week it was the first time I could actually see Eden kick from the outside.  And I guess buying maternity clothes was my milestone for this week.
Best moment this week: Not pregnancy related, but when I got home yesterday afternoon after being away for almost two weeks, the reaction I got from my pups when they saw me was the best homecoming EVER!!!  They were SO EXCITED to see their mama!  I missed those stinkers!! :)

20 Weeks!

How far along? 20 weeks, 6 days (and of course I'm late to share and now I'm 21 weeks along!)
Total weight gain/loss: +3 lbs
Food cravings: Nothing special this week.  I am pretty boring!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I felt sick on Friday.  Just really worn out and tired.  But I know its because I went overboard and walked 19,000 steps, or almost 9 miles the day before.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, but my bump is so small in the morning and by night it looks so BIG!!

Movement: I am pretty sure I am feeling her, but it's so subtle.  I was feeling a little nervous about not feeling her more, but the midwife reassured me at my appointment this week that everything is just fine with Eden.
Gender prediction: She's still a girl!!  Although, after looking at the sonogram I can't figure out how what the arrow is pointing to represents a baby girl?!
Wedding rings on or off? On, and fitting comfortably.
Belly Button in or out? No change from last week.  I've still got an innie.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm happy.  That's my normal demeanor though.  There's just too much to be happy about to be moody.
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but I know its coming.
Stretch marks? Nada.  I've finally started to use lotion to help prevent them.  I guess I should have been doing this from the start.
Sleep: Meh.  I've not slept well since I found out I was pregnant.  So many trips to the bathroom!
What I miss: Before I got pregnant I was always on the lookout for blueberry flavored drinks.  My favorite being blueberry sangria.  Ollie and I had brunch this weekend and what did I see on the wall menu: a blueberry Mojito.   And of course I couldn't get it.  Bummer!!
New Baby Items: Nothing new this week.  Oliver and I were looking at the baby section at Target today and holy moly there is so much!!!!  And nothing is cheap!
Exercise: My Fitbit is such a good motivator to get out and walk. I'm so happy I have that thing.  And I did well this week with meeting my 12,500 steps per day goal.   Especially since I'm tracked out and I slept in and laid around like a bum during the day!!
What I'm looking forward to: Eden and I are off on a 12 day adventure.  We're leaving for Alaska in the morning!!  We'll be camping and hiking and exploring and enjoying the cold weather!!
Milestones: This week it was walking 19,000 steps in one day.  That's a lot of movement, people!!  And this is silly, but at my appointment this week the midwife measured my belly for the first time.  Hey, it's the little things!!
Best moment this week: The best moment was hearing Eden's heartbeat on Wednesday.  I know she's been in my belly for 20 weeks now, but since I don't really feel her yet, and my belly isn't that big, I kind of don't feel pregnant sometimes.  But to hear her heart beating and know she is doing well is just the best feeling.  Gosh, I love that baby so much!  I cannot wait to meet her!!

19 weeks and a very special reveal!!!

How far along? 19 weeks, 6 days (Posting late again!!!)
Total weight gain/loss: +3 lbs
Food cravings: This week I wanted pizza.  I got it too!!  I ate pizza 3 times this week.  No regrets here!! :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: I felt GREAT all week.  I am really loving being pregnant!
Have you started to show yet: If you know me then you're seeing my bump growing bigger daily.  But, it you didn't know that I'm pregnant then you're probably saying to yourself that I need to go on a diet.  Ha!

Movement: I think I might have felt the baby a couple times this week when I was laying in bed but I'm not sure.  The feeling was so faint that I could be wrong.
Gender prediction: It's a GIRL!!!! And her name is Eden.  Sweet little Eden Massey. We're still working on the middle name though.  We've narrowing it down to three names.  Don't worry,  I'll let you know what her full name will be as soon as we decide. :)
Wedding rings on or off? On, where it belongs!
Belly Button in or out? In and staying put at the moment.
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maternity clothes? Nope and not complaining either!
Stretch marks? None that are pregnancy related.
Sleep: I slept really well this week.  I am in love with my pregnancy pillow.  I'm snuggled up with it when I'm in my bed and on the couch.  Great investment.
What I miss: Nothing really.  I'm too excitement about the baby to care this week.
New Baby Items: I received some very lovely gifts at my gender reveal party. Some precious onesies, books, knickknacks, and stuffed animals.  Eden is so loved already!
Exercise: I got in my steps this week by cleaning.  Oliver and I cleaned every evening this week preparing for the party.
What I'm looking forward to: Starting the nursery!!  It's going to be painted a light gray with pink accents.
Milestones: Finding out what we're having!!
Best moment this week: Finding out the gender of our sweet little baby!!!!!!!!!!  I was 100% convinced I had a little boy swimming around in my belly.  And let me just tell you that Oliver and I got the surprise of our lives when we popped that balloon and pink confetti came floating down.  Ollie said it was the biggest surprise of his life.  Finding out the baby's a girl is by far the best MOMENT in my 32 years of life!

Click on the video below to check out the big reveal!!!!!

Best day ever!!!! :)
